    Sidebar Layout & Customisation
    In This Topic

A Quick Access Properties Sidebar can be enabled which allows you to make minor modifications quickly to all cabinets and other items on the plan without opening the cabinet properties.

In this topic we will discuss the Catalog/Drawing Properties where the content of the sidebar can be set on the Display > SideBar Layout page and the Display > SideBar Customisation page which allows you to customise the colours of the sidebar buttons.

For a detailed discussion on how the Sidebar works, see the topic on the Properties Sidebar.

    Setting Up your Sidebar

    Sidebar Layout : Slots

On the Display > SideBar Layout page set up the four (4) available Sidebar Slots for both the Drawing and Cabinet.

Use the drop lists to select the Module to be viewed in each slot. See topic on Properties Sidebar.

Display > SideBar Layout page  -  Click to Expand

Display > SideBar Layout page  -  Click to Expand

    Drawing

If any other drawing element (or nothing) is selected the Drawing Checklist will be displayed, shown below left.

    Cabinet

Whenever a cabinet is selected on the drawing its Cabinet Sidebar will be displayed, shown above right.

Each of these slots can show one of nine (9) different Modules as listed here (follow links for more information on each module).

    Sidebar Customisation

On the Display > SideBar Customisation page you can ...

    1. select frequently accessed reports so that can be run quickly from the sidebar.
      • this should be set up in the Catalog Properties and overridden in the Drawing if required.
    2. customise the colours of the Move buttons on the sidebar.
Display > Customisation page  -  Click to Expand

Display > Customisation page  -  Click to Expand

    Button Colour

To change the colour of the move buttons press the relevant Page/Cabinet Move Button Colour option.

This will launch a colour picker dialog, select a colour and click OK.

A preview of the newly selected colour will display on the right. As shown in the above example, the sidebar Cabinet Move buttons will be displayed as red and the sidebar Page Move buttons will be displayed in blue.

    Reports

The report module allows to quickly run your selection of frequently accessed reports by pressing any of the four (4) customised buttons for both (or either) the Cabinet and Drawing level. Therefore this should be set up in the Catalog Properties and overridden in the Drawing if required.

To customise, simply click on the required button.

    • This will open up a browser to the Report folder where you can identify and select the report required.

After selection, the required reports will be displayed on the button and can be changed for each job if required.

    Result

This will display in the Properties Sidebar as shown, which can be run for either the Cabinet or the Drawing.

When the required Reports button is pushed i.e. Door List.rdl, the report with a list of doors will be created.
