Mullions are the partial divisions that are added as an extra surface to hinge a door from whenever there is not a carcass end or full division to attach the door to. Mullions are added automatically to cabinets :-
The default width of the mullion is set in the Catalog/Drawing Properties on the Construction Standard > Ends page, in the Mullions groupbox.
Most cabinets also have the ability to override the mullion depth. This can be done on the :-
- Labour & Construction > Construction page in the Options groupbox.
- Labour & Construction > Mullions page in the Options groupbox (see Sink construction).
On cabinets without a mullion, this option is greyed out.
Most cabinets, that are able to add mullions, also have the option to enable Double Mullions.
This adds a second mullion next to the original mullion to provide extra stability and prevents the need for shelf or hinge holes to drill all the way through the mullion. The double mullion checkbox will be next to the relevant option for adding the mullions.
In most cabinets, this option can be found on the Labour & Construction > Construction page.
In certain cabinets, such as the Sink cabinet, this option can be found on the Labour & Construction > Mullions page.
Make sure your offsets are correct. In the Drawing Properties under Mach. Shelf/Mullion > Mullions, your Single Mullion offset should be set to 8mm, and your Double Mullion offset should be set to 0mm.
The Vanity Sink and Vanity Standard cabinets have the ability to add sink cutouts to the back of mullions.
These sink cutouts can be controlled on the :-
- Labour & Construction > Mullions page in the Mullion Sink Cutouts groupbox.
OR
- Cabinet Details > Sink page
The Mach. Shelf/Mullion > Mullions page contains various options for adjusting how the mullions are machined and positioned.
